PULMONOLOGY

Metro Center For Respiratory Diseases is one of the most advance, fully equipped respiratory department, which includes Critical Care and Sleep medicine. The Department has five consultants in all, and has a unique Respiratory Intensive Care Unit , one of its kind in this  country, comprising of 20 ICU beds, Bronchoscopy unit, two pulmonary functional laboratories, Sleep labs that are housed on the same floor.

This centre has the following Facilities :

 Respiratory Intensive Care Unit:

It has 20 beds, all equipped with latest monitoring facilities for heart rate, cardiac rhythm, Blood Pressure (arterial and non invasive), Pulmonary Artery monitoring,Cardiac output monitoring, End tidal CO2 monitoring, O2 Saturation probes with facility to do  complex  parameter calculations on the monitors.

Ventilatory facilities (Seimen's Puritan Ventilators & Noninvasive Bilevel Ventilators), and excellent Physician backup is available 24 x 7. Bedside dialysis, cardiac pacing, plasmapheresis is also available in case of need. The RICU is manned by a team of six dedicated Senior Registrars and registrars round the clock. Transport Ventilators are available to transfer patients of any severity to and  fro from different hospital and intrahospital to get CT or MRI Scan done in sick patients.

The Bronchoscopy Unit:

It has both adult and paediatric bronchoscope, video Bronchoscope and Pleuroscope with C-Arm facilities for transbronchial lung biopies whenever needed. BasicMonitoring and resuscitation facilities are available in Bronchoscopy suite itself. Bronchoscopy procedure are routinely done in various intensive care units as and when need arises.

The Pulmonary Function Laboratory:

Equipped with advanced Cosmed Quark 4 with facilities to do spirometry, lung volumes diffusion and advanced Cardio pulmonary  exercise System.


Sleep Disorder Lab:

Metro Sleep laboratory was first sleep disorder lab in U.P. It is one of the largest and most sophisticated sleep labs in the country being equipped with additional sensors, hardware and software to carry out cardiovascular studies.

Polysomnography or sleep studies have become a science by itself  in the modern day medical world. Our lab is equipped to diagnose cases of  Obstructive  Sleep  Apnoea, Chronic  Insomnia and sleep behaviour disorders and  impotence. Obstructive  Sleep  Apnoea is a diseases commonly found among the general male population. This assumes greater importance  when it occurs in patients  with Cardiovascular diseases, the only way to diagnose and start appropriate treatment in sleep Apnoea is to do sleep studies and prevent any serious complications and even prevent unexplained death during sleep.

Our center also provides domicillary sleep studies with its portable Auto Clinical III Lab,when a sleep study can be done in the comforts of patient's home and on his bed.


Allergy Lab:

It does prick tests for various allergies to identify allergic disorders.


Pulmonary rehabilitation
Center:

A dedicated team of pulmonary physiotherapists is providing rehabilitation services for quick recovery and support to lead a normal life.

 

DR.DEEPAK TALWAR

Dr.Deepak Talwar is a Chairman of Metro Centre for Respiratory Diseases, Noida, which is a unit of Metro Group of Hospitals and Heart Institute, with 80 dedicated beds in Respiratory Centre with 20 beds in Respiratory ICU having Non-invasive and Invasive Ventilation, Videobronchoscopy Lab, Complete PFT Lab, Sleep Lab, Allergy Lab and special clinics for Bronchial Asthma, Sleep Disorders Clinic, Allergy Clinic, Quit Smoking Clinic and COPD Rehabilitation Clinic.

He  is one of the first D.M in Pulmonology.

He was awarded Fellowship by college of Chest Physicians (India) in 1999.

His name is  featured in Limca Book of Records in 2000.

He is participating in the Global Multinational Trails in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
