The dept. of neurosciences, a unit of metro group of hospitals, provides international standards of services at highly affordable cost.

OUT PATIENT CARE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

OUTDOOR SERVICES
Outdoor patient care services are being provided daily except Sundays from morning to evening. Specialty clinics have been started as specialized evening clinics on headache, epilepsy, backache, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. Botulinum toxin therapy is being provided to patients of movement disorders like blepharospasm and cervical dystonia.

EMERGENCY SERVICES
The hospital is fully equipped to provide emergency services for all neurological and neurosurgical emergencies and round the clock ambulance services are also available to transfer critically ill patients including patients of acute stroke who need thrombolylic therapy within 3 hours of onset of symptoms. Round the clock management of all kinds of head injuries and spinal injuries is available with in-house spiral (fast) CT SCAN.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
» EEG LAB
Equipped with neurography EEG machine for the diagnostic evaluation of patients of epilepsy.

» EMG LAB
Facilities for nerve conduction study, Electromyography & Evolved Potential studies (VEP, BERA).
For the diagnosis of neuropathies, myopathies, myasthenia gravis, disorders of visual, hearing and somatosensory pathways.

CRITICAL CARE NEUROLOGY
» NEURO INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
A state-of-the-art neuro ICU equipped with facilities for non-invasive , invasive monitoring & ventilatory support for critically ill patients such as acute stroke, CNS infections like meningitis and encephalitis and immunological facilities for ICP monitoring is available disorders like Gullain barre syndrome and myasthenia gravis.

» HIGH DEPENDENCY SERVICES
A high dependency unit, equipped for monitoring sick patients who do not require ventilatory support and also to act as a step down care center of neuro ICU patients.

SURGICAL FACILITIES

Brain and Spinal Surgeries - The department of neurosurgery provides specialized surgical care for brain and spinal disorders. Ventriculoperitoneal shunt, tumor resection or debulking, endoscopic brain tumor surgery, micro vascular decompression and spinal surgeries including spinal tumors are commonly performed. The department also provides comprehensive management of head injuries including facilities for intra cranial pressure monitoring.

NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES
The department of neurosciences in close coordination with the department of physiotherapy provides neurorehabilitation services for patients of stroke, neuropathies, myopathies, backache, cerebral palsy, cervical spondylisis and low backache.


In addition to treatment of the disease, our team feels a strong sense of responsibility to educate the public about the basics of maintaining a good health. The department regularly holds medical education programme (CME), free camps, health talks & health week within and outside hospital to spread awareness, and to encourage a scientific understanding of diversified neurological problems.
