Metro ICUS's are capable of providing high level of intensive therapy in
terms of quality and urgency to critically ill patients whose condition
necessitate prolonged continuous therapy or monitoring
ICUS's follow a multidisciplinary and multi professional medical / nursing
approach for patients, who have sustained or are at risk of sustaining
acutely life threatening single or multiple organ system failure due to
disease or injury. These ICUs serve as an important link in patient care,
beginning with mobile ICU and expanding to step down unit. These units

investigations. Transfusion medicine forms a vital part of the institute by
providing whole blood and components such as fresh frozen plasma, platelet
concentrates. The department of pathology and transfusion medicine has been
established by Padam Bhushan Dr. Purshotom Lal, Chairman, metro hospital and
heart institutes with an aim to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and
blood bank facilities at affordable cost.
